The Filterfotograf® Soft GND 0.9 (ND8) is a professional 100x150mm rectangular filter with a soft gradient, designed specifically for demanding landscape photographers. With a density of 0.9 (equivalent to ND8), it reduces incoming light in the upper part of the image by 3 f-stops – ideal for gently balancing bright sky areas without losing foreground detail.
Made from high-quality Ultra HD optical glass with a thickness of 2mm , this filter impresses with maximum image sharpness, color neutrality and exceptional robustness – perfect for daily use in the field.
Soft GND – For natural transitions in uneven light
With its smooth gradient, this Soft GND filter is ideal for scenes without a clearly defined horizon line—such as wooded landscapes, rolling hills, or mountain ranges. The ND gradient was developed by Riko Best himself based on years of practical experience with optical filters and specifically optimized for natural lighting conditions. The result is a harmonious, practical gradient that ensures smooth transitions while allowing maximum control over exposure.
Ultra HD glass – maximum optical quality
Thanks to the extremely clear, optical Ultra HD glass, the filter delivers outstanding image sharpness – even when used with high-resolution sensors and wide-angle lenses. The filter is completely color-neutral and guarantees the highest level of detail without being affected by glass defects or color casts.
AR+AF Nano-coating – high-tech for tough use
The filter is equipped with a state-of-the-art AR+AF nano coating :
- AR (Anti-Reflective) reduces reflections and prevents unwanted light glare – especially in backlight or when the sun is low.
- AF (Anti-Fouling) dirt and water repellent – protects the surface from oil, fingerprints, dust and moisture and makes cleaning much easier.
Scratch-resistant & durable – built for outdoors
The hardened glass surface makes the filter extremely resistant to scratches and mechanical stress – ideal for outdoor use, travel or demanding environments
