The Filterfotograf® Center GND 1.2 (ND16) is a high-precision 100x150mm rectangular filter with a central gradient, which was specially developed for scenes with a dominant light source in the center of the image - such as sunsets over a flat horizon line, reflective bodies of water or direct light sources on axis.

With a density of 1.2 (equivalent to ND16), the filter reduces light in the center of the image by 4 f-stops , while the upper and lower areas remain virtually unaffected. This ensures targeted exposure correction without unwanted darkening at the edges of the image.

Made from 2mm thick Ultra HD optical glass, this filter combines maximum image sharpness, color neutrality, and durability – designed for professionals and ambitious outdoor photographers.

Center GND – For difficult light in the center of the image

With its centrally positioned gradient, this Center GND filter is ideal for scenes where the strongest light is directly on or just above the horizon—such as sunsets over water or open landscapes. Riko Best developed the ND gradient himself based on years of practical experience with optical filters and specifically tuned it for these lighting situations. The result is a balanced, photographer-friendly gradient that darkens the image precisely without unnecessarily affecting the upper or lower areas of the image.
